Developing Social Skills Through Play

The Children's Center of Monrovia offers a toddler room which has the capacity for nine toddlers. There are three qualified teachers for the toddler age group, ensuring individualized care. Due to the verbal and mobile nature of toddlers, the classroom is set up with various centers to stimulate and generate an interest in play and social development.

Montessori Program for Toddlers

The Montessori Program for toddlers supports the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development of each child. The main purpose of any Montessori School or program is to provide a carefully planned, stimulation environment which helps the child develop an excellent foundation for creative learning, not just through educational materials but also through fun activities!

The toddler program at The children's Center of Monrovia is the beginning of a very simplistic curriculum program. Included in this program is circle time that includes nursery rhymes, finger plays, story time and more. Eventually puzzles are introduced to further develop hand/eye coordination and special concepts. Allowing the children to have imaginary play provides a great opportunity for role-modeling home-like activities. The toddler room at The Children's Center of Monrovia is the perfect opportunity for toddlers to begin learning about themselves and their environment as well as developing social skills.
